Hey Guys...its 2009 now, and I just wanted to post a new topic...except I really don't have one. haha So I've noticed that the group area here and alot of the other groups have become pretty dead...and there's really NOT a whole lot of activity going on there. So this is just a way to get you guys talking about something...anything...ANYTHING YOU WANT. If its something you wanna get off your chest...go ahead a say it. If you're trying to promote something or someone...go ahead and do it. If you wanna make the DList aware of something that's taking place...then do it here. What's on your mind DList? Its 2009 now...and we need a new discussion here in the Top 25 List group section. I know I haven't been using this group section like I should have been...but I aim to start here in 2009. What do you have to say, DList?

The past few days I've been seriously considering closing my account here on dlist. Don't get me wrong, I've made alot of great friends here since i first joined this site but in the past few months it seems like the luster is gone. With the addition of dlist plus & having to pay to share my personal pics with my close friends... it just seems like the fun is gone out of this site. I opened my private pics to everyone to avoid this pay-for-view game but I see that the only way to avoid it is to erase my pics & upload them as public pics. In my opinion ... it's complete bullshit.
It's not just dlist plus that seems to disappoint me lately... where is everyone? I have over 1700 friends & almost daily I post comments on a random 50 friends pages but the only comments & letters i receive in return are from a close net of 5 or 6 friends. I don't want this to seem like a cry baby letter or anything like that... I'm just frustrated. I have Myspace & Myyearbook plus I've joined other gay sites... gaywatch & lifeout (sites that don't charge)but I was hoping someone had some words of wisdom to share. |

So I hadn't heard from a pretty hot guy here on DList in awhile...and I sent him an email. We are apparently not friends anymore...whereas in the past everything has been pretty cool. I just wanted to know what it was that I did to make him NOT wanna be my friend anymore. His reply was that although he is in the 'Hall of Hotness' he thinks the List is a stupid idea. He says he doesn't understand how the List is put together although he's been on DList almost two years and I've explained the things I look at several times. He says that he has countless friends who ask why HE has been listed and is in the 'Hall of Hotness' and they aren't. And he claims my list leaves people hurt. Then he goes on to say that he doesn't know what I look like...despite the fact that my pic was public the first 7 or 8 months I joined DList...and despite the fact that its plainly written on my page what to do if you have to see my face. He says the 'group' thing is a dumb idea from the start. And that he's tired of having to explain to his friends why they are not on the List or in the 'Hall'. It kinda bothered me that he would say this...because this guy use to be sooo into the List each week. And I thought he was pretty cool. But even if he really doesn't know what I look like...he never made an effort to see what I look like. And here he is trying to explain ME and how the List works to other people when he is apparently clueless about it himself! That's just wrong!
So I say to you, DList...am I being hurtful? Am I being mean here? I am NOT part of some 'in-crowd' as he put it. I'm just having fun with other DListers. And I don't think that's fair to be labelled something like that. I've noticed that over the past year...this guy's bulletins have gotten increasingly negative...that is unless he's discussing some teen drama or something. So maybe its NOT me...and its just that he's unhappy with himself. I've stated several times that I'm trying to be all-inclusive with the List. Its NOT just based on looks...but I look at several things. I've even went so far as to type out different things I look at...several times. I stopped doing this List each week for ME a long time ago. I do it for the guys here on DList who still wanna have fun with it now. I'm more into football. So I created the DList fantasy football league to get some testosterone flowing here on the D. And yes...the List tends to take a back seat with me at this time of year...to the Fantasy Football League. But I've never left anyone off to be hurtful. I try to include everyone as much as possible. But there are only 25 slots. You do the math. Another thing I noticed is that this guy contradicts himself alot. Maybe he's a bitter guy...and I'm just seeing him for what he is NOW...and maybe I missed all that in the past. What do you think, DList? Am I being hurtful? Am I wrong for doing this? Does having two Lists rub it in guys face even more when they aren't put on the List, like he said? Should I just ignore this bitter guy and keep doing what I'm doing? If I'm wrong please let me know. KJ |

It is not for someone else to explain the list to others. It is your set of criteria and your choice. It is also open to suggestions...so if they are not on the list...someone could suggest adding them. Don't worry too much KJ. Your page does explain your situation and you have explained the list before. Thanks for showing that you are open to discussing it again and that you are concerned what we think of it as well. | |

Hi =) You have been nothing but honest and open about what you look for when you put together your list. I certainly understand your reasoning. With my busy work schedule I'm certainly not the most social guy on here. But I make a point of being respectful and courteous to everyone I run across. I think that the person that you mentioned in your post has other things going on or a situation that is making him sensitive. I wouldn't worry about his reaction to the list. But try to keep in contact with him. | |

Whoever gets hurt by your list is a tard. Plain and simple. How are you going to get all emotional about a list made by a complete stranger? Who cares? If you're getting all worked up and upset over someone else's top hot 25 picks of Dlist, someone else's opinions, you need to get a life.

Its cool, guys. Thanks. The List WILL continue. I'll keep doing it for the guys here on DList who want to have FUN with it. After all...that's what its all about...FUN. I think that anybody who would say that I'm hurting them by NOT putting them on the List has a very fragile ego...and its probably nothing I could do for them anyway. But thanks for your support. I think I was probably more upset at being labelled like I'm part of some 'In-Crowd' as it was put. And this coming from someone who obviously has issues and doesn't know me at all. I only hope that in the future...guys WON'T let me put them in the List for 20 or so weeks...the 'Hall of Hotness'...post several messages to my page thanking me...and even send me emails too thanking me...only to flip flop and then tell me they think the List is a bad idea after they haven't been on the List in awhile. And also tell me that I'm hurting their friends by NOT putting them on the List.
Scott...I think you make a great point. But it takes two to communicate. And I've made the effort and left the possiblitly of communicating in the future open. But I refuse to continually extend my friendship to someone who seems to just wanna cut the lines of communication with me...and drop me as a friend. I'm just NOT that lonely...and it really doesn't mean that much to me. At some point I think we as MEN (or apparently boys too...haha) have to examine ourselves. All of this negativity is just NOT productive. Its not how I roll. So its whatever. I've made my effort...and will talk with anybody who can carry a decent conversation. But If I never say another word to this guy...I won't lose any sleep. KJ |
