I am a perpetual student and modern-day Jack-of-all-trades. I lean toward the reticent side, though after a few Jack Daniels I'll tell you more than you'll ever want to know. Sarcasm is requisite, as is a sense of humor and open mind. I'm unabashedly laid back, gifted yet unmotivated, and increasingly aware of the futility of ambition. Also, I eat a lot of hashbrowns.
You should be you. Why be anyone else?

My Heart
I'm not going to cry all the time
nor shall I laugh all the time,
I don't prefer one "strain" to another.
I'd have the immediacy of a bad movie,
not just a sleeper, but also the big,
overproduced first-run kind. I want to be
at least as alive as the vulgar. And if
some aficionado of my mess says, "That's
not like Frank!", all to the good! I
don't wear brown and grey suits all the time,
do I? No. I wear workshirts to the opera,
often. I want my feet to be bare,
I want my face to be shaven, and my heart---

Elemental
Why don't people leave off being lovable
Or thinking they are lovable, or wanting to be lovable,
And be a bit elemental instead?
Since man is made up of the elements
Fire, and rain, and air, and live loam
And none of these is lovable
But elemental,
Man is lop-sided on the side of angels.
I wish men would get back their balance among the elements
And be a bit more fiery, as incapable of telling lies
As fire is.
I wish they'd be true to their own variation, as water is,

I've had that same dream except: limes. But citrus is citrus. I went out the next morning and bought a bunch of lime-scented antibacterial wipes and bathed myself with them.
