Peace

Hey, I'm Chad. I guess I'm your average guy and not your typical guy at the same time. I like music, gadgets, and fun stuff like that. Anything you'd like to know just ask, I'm very honest.

==============================================================

Ask Yourself... What Do You Believe?

I believe most things are not as they seem. I believe that what most of us deem as 'truths' are merely trickled down, co-opted, converted, and bastardized versions of once truths that today have been assimilated and accepted as truths so as to fit the current cultural paradigm.

It sounds non-committal of me in that I have a hard time deciding on what to believe when so much of we are taught isn't real. I feel burdened sometimes by my lack of ability to be fully convinced of things I occasionally would rather be convinced of. But most of the time I'm glad I'm of the mind to know the difference.

The term, "Nothing is true, all is permissible," rings in my mind a lot these days. Though I don't totally agree with that in the sense that there are some things to be taken at face value. For example; the love of a child to parent and parent to child (and a few other rare exceptions). But most other things that we literally hang the fabric of our existence on don't stand balanced and strong on this tight rope we walk.

Could we as a species learn to handle such things? Actual truths (?) or is there a fundamental reason why we are taught to accept what we are told? Maybe somebody somewhere knows that people (en mass) couldn't handle having the table cloth torn out from under them. Maybe someone or some people knew and know that people, once again en mass, would fall to the ground and shatter like cheap crystal at a suburban dinner party.

I think I have been preparing myself consciously and unconsciously to know things that others don't. Or things that others couldn't handle. So in that case, I'm ready to know more.

"In this culture, we celebrate and elevate spoiled fools for their obnoxious and lavish lifestyles, we give them TV shows and buy all their ridiculously merchandised products. Love yourself for all your shortcomings and be real. If you do that long enough and stay patient, you'll find someone to share the amazingness of life with. We all need each other." -Anthony Green

"We'll be remembered, after the ashes fall, as a species who had unlimited, untaped potential." -Brandon Boyd

"The only currency in this bankrupt world is what we share with others when we're uncool."
-Philip Seymour Hoffman as Lester Bangs
