Literature I Like:

When it comes to books, I haven't read a lot of recent works. I guess you could say I'm more concerned with trying to understand the classics of the past before turning to the potential classics of the present. But in regard to books that are particularly close to my heart I love Tolkien, Lewis, Dostoevsky, the Brontes, George Eliot, and Shakespeare's tragedies and sonnets. I also love poetry, but that's another issue ... my affinity is for a sort of dark Romanticism (I love Robinson Jeffers and Edna St. Vincent Millay, among others). Anyway, literature is basically my life, and I've read a fair deal, but those few categories include a lot of my favorites... And of course, I like Harry Potter (about as modern as I've gotten).

Welcome to England.

Hey, my name's Josh-- I just graduated from college as a theology major (mmhm!) with an emphasis in Classics and a minor in English lit. I'm from southern California and my last fall semester I went to study in England, which was incredible! Right now I'm taking a bit of a break and trying to figure out my plans for Graduate work. I love school, but I also enjoy time spent with my close friends. If you're a fun, sincere person then we'd probably get along fine. I'm an open-minded, loving person--I just expect others to be amiable as well. I care deeply for my friends, and am extremely loyal to them. I'm not here looking for guys who want to swap nude pics. If that's what you're after don't even bother adding me. I'm looking for people who genuinely want to have conversations and build friendships.

I tend to be an idealist and I spend much of my alone time in reflection and pursuit of things which I consider to be good and beautiful. The way I live my life matters to me, and so I do spend a lot of time thinking about it. I love traveling, and have spent a fair amount of time abroad. I'm in love with Britain. L.O.V.E.

Right now I'm single and continuing school is my main priority. However, I look forward to having someone in my life with whom I can speak honestly and intimately, a guy with whom I can simply laugh, snuggle, and live life with... a guy I can feel perfectly comfortable with whether we're out with friends or at home in bed. I want to have a relationship with someone who will increase my appreciation for life and who will motivate me to continually become a better person; someone who's independent and yet willing to mesh their life with mine. I love light-hearted, humorous, witty guys who also know when to be serious and care to have intellectual conversations. Having good discussions (about life, literature, philosophy, politics, etc.) is one of my favorite things, and I think being able to comfortably and naturally dialogue with someone is vital to having a good relationship. Anyway, I promise I'm not as uptight as this probably makes me sound. I'm just letting you know what's important to me. :-P

I'll also be honest and say that, though I'll befriend anyone, in looking for a potential boyfriend, looks are relatively important. I certainly don't think that they should be the foundation of a relationship, but physical attraction should be there... after all, aesthetics are a big deal to me-I am a lover of beauty.

Thanks for the add. I'm sorry school is so intense for you at the moment...I feel I can relate with finals staring me down. But things will go well - I look forward to hearing back from you when it all settles down.
