All the World's a Stage
Ok, so it's a rainy Saturday and I'm home with not too much to do, so let me actually put in some effort here. My name is Preston. Sounds pretentious? Yes it does, but you work with what you're given. I've lived in NYC for near a year and a half now and still love it more everyday. I don't always live everyday like it's my last, but i try to a majority of the time. Life is a gift that we get one shot at. Wasting that gift sleeping it away, I feel, is a sin. I'm not at all religious. I do like the idea of a higher power though. It offers a false sense of security, but even a false sense is certainly something. I enjoy rambling and going into writing tangents. Starting on a thought and going on to another without much clarity as to why or what brought me there is kind of the only way I enjoy writing. I don't like things to be formatted or planned, I live in spontaneity and always in the moment. The future is bull shit, stop thinking about it. It's the only fake time. The past is this huge ever growing thing and the present is now, the future is never. It never happens, so fuck it. Live for today and live it up. That's sort of like "No day but today" a big theme and lyric in Jonathan Larson's "RENT" a musical I am quite fond of. I am an actor, I live for love and respect the Theatre and stage. Not only the stage though really, all art influences me. Culinary, photography, 2D, 3D, graphic, dance, music really I am not picky. Anton Chekhov is my favorite Playwrite. I am under the impression that he is the greatest to ever live. Sorry Shakes, I love you too, this is just how I feel. I was born in Houston Texas and lived there for a whopping 2 weeks before moving to Hawaii for a year. Then on to Florida, i spent kindergarten there and moved to California. Spend 1st and 2nd grades there before moving back to Florida where I finally settled, sort of. My mom was an army brat, so moving is just in her blood. We moved every 2 years at least all around North Miami Beach and Miami. I don't like Florida too much. The beach is nice, sure but the people aren't and I live for community and human connection. I love people and I love caring about people. I have some of the best friends in the world and would do anything for them if they needed. I have 4 brothers. My parents are divorced. I currently go to school at Circle in the Square. Circle is a magnificent professional actor training 2 year workshop in Midtown Manhattan, on 50th between Broadway and 8th Ave. When I was younger I played Piano and Saxophone, now I do not. I do play guitar, but am no longer very good at it. Not things I'm proud of. So yeah my pictures of me playing Piano are sort of a sham, I'm just hitting C chord with both hands. For you non music people out there, I'll tell you that's not very exciting. Anonymous "I'm Into You" gets on my nerves, what do you have to lose by being upfront? I don't know much more to say but know there's plenty. Oh ok, like I've never had a boyfriend before. Would I like a boyfriend? Yes I certainly would. Am I on this website for that? No, not at all. I'll leave this at that. Let me know if I left anything out you'd be interested to know, I'm sure I'll update this again in the future. Cheers.
